LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY

Lake of the Woods
County Historical Society
The Lake of the
Wood’s Historical Society’s County Museum connects visitors with the
area’s colorful past from geology and natural history to early peoples,
fur trade, settlement and the development of industries and
communities. Exhibits also capture more recent events that helped to
shape the county — the Great Forest Fire of 1910, the construction of
the International Bridge and the birth of Willie Walleye. The museum
library and archives offer a variety of record holdings and we welcome
researchers and genealogists.
