The Dream Comes True

In September 1963, the Ulen Historical Society was formed with Ihlor Bjerke as president, Ray Wilmore as vice president, and Eliza Knutson as secretary-treasurer. The original museum building, dating back to 1902 and built by Edwin Evans, had a second story added in 1914. From the start, the goal was simple, to preserve local history and share it with the community.

In 2004, a new Ulen Historical Society came together to carry that work forward. Ground was broken in the spring of 2006 for a new 40′ x 100′ museum on Main Street in Ulen. With the help of volunteer builders, plumbers, and electricians, the community created a space that will serve the area for years to come.

Items from the original museum were cleaned, cataloged, and moved into the new building. New donations have continued to come in, and displays have grown along the way. The new Ulen Museum officially opened its doors on August 4, 2007.

Admission: Adults – $5, Seniors – $4, Students – $3, Preschoolers – Free, and Family (2 adults, 2 or more children) – $15
